A few more photos from the Everest Three Passes loop: EBC and Ama Dablam base camps, a solid-ice waterfall-style glacier, one of the hundreds of mule trains for which we had to make way, and more of the huge, open landscapes of the Himalayas.

Some photos from 20 days on the Everest Three Passes trek in the Khumbu region of Nepal. A massive loop spanning three 5300+ meter mountain passes, we also sumitted three 5300+ meter peaks, with side trips to two famous base camps (Everest and Ama Dablam). The experience was absolutely stunning, freezing cold (as we did the loop in winter, with mountaintop lows of -20 C), and quite tough - with nearly half the trip time spent near 5000m where the amount of oxygen is about 50 percent of sea level, every movement, even just getting into your sleeping bag, leaves you short on air.

Phenomenal 4-day scuba diving liveaboard trip in Komodo National Park, Indonesia. We cruised, ate, and slept on the beautiful boat Amalia, stopping to dive at sites in the central and south of the massive marine park. We also got to stretch our legs on both Komodo and Padar Islands, including the famous pink beach, and even met a giant Komodo Dragon lizard in person.

Some pics from the last week in Indonesia. Spent time relaxing and snorkeling on the tiny island of Gili Air near Lombok. No cars or motorcycles are allowed on Gili, and the island is so small that it takes only 20 minutes to walk across it - there are, however, plenty of horse-drawn carriages for moving stuff around. We also met many other animals, including one particularly needy cat that joined us every day for breakfast (despite having literally just been fed by his owners). As it's the rainy season in west Indonesia at the moment, we were treated to plenty of intense (but short) rainstorms. It was very cool watching them blast in from across the open ocean. On our final night, we learned all about Indonesian cuisine with a cooking class. I primarily learned that you need strong wrists, as there is a shocking amount of grinding required with a mortar & pestle.

Some photos from a few weeks on Koh Tao, a tiny island in the Gulf of Thailand famous for its scuba diving scene. We checked out a ton of beaches, got in about 10 dives, enjoyed numerous restaurants, snorkeled and hiked and yoga'd, and had many a sunset beer on the beach.
