On Friday, December 15, Toronto’s underground scene will gather at intimate venue Parlour, in celebration of Canadian imprint Bohemian Yacht Club‘s [BYC] release of Brian Johnson‘s Amsterdam to Broadway album. What started out as a boat cruise series and promotion company has been reimagined into a record label after a two year hiatus, and is aiming to showcase the finest in contemporary Canadian dance music to the Toronto scene and beyond. Curating the sounds for the evening will be a trio of essential BYC selectors: Joel Waznicky, Sean Roman and the man of the hour, Brian Johnson.
Amsterdam to Broadway is comprised of 11 dynamically diverse tracks, brimming with emotion and melodic grooves and serves as a perfect introduction to what BYC has up their sleeves for future releases. The album weaves between the light and breezy to the deep and brooding, filling all the gaps in between to create a truly masterful collection. Come out on December 15 to hear the album in action for what is sure to be a night of top-notch music and Toronto local love.
