Fred V stands tall with his first EP since going solo, ‘Proximity’, following his huge single ‘Burning Me’ from Hospital Records’ stand-out compilation ‘Sick Music 2019’. Across five tracks he explores his signature synth-ladened drum & bass euphoria and funky future-bass beats, alongside features from singer/songwriters Rothwell and Lottie Jones.
Rothwell’s gorgeous vocals on the EP’s lead track ‘Storm’ bring a rich musicality, powered by Fred V’s pristine production and masterfully crafted melodies. It’s a welcomed return to the Hospital camp for the London-based singer, after featuring on Metrik’s huge hit ‘We Got It’ and releasing her own pop-ballad beauty ‘Darling’.
Fans of Fred V’s early collaborative productions ‘Major Happy’ and ‘Games People Play’ will welcome his new solo material ‘Really Happy Aliens’ and ‘Cosmic Flowchart’ – both first-class tickets to brighter days, shining brilliantly in the dreamy realms of big-room D+B.
Emotions run deep as Fred V brings through whispers of his own vocal talent on the soothing liquid D+B journey, ‘Voyage’. Finally, there’s the indie-electronica masterpiece ‘Proximity’ featuring the majestic vocals of Lottie Jones.
Fred V’s already picking up momentum since the announcement of his solo adventures with a plethora of support spanning from BBC Radio 1’s dance music vanguard Annie Mac, to electronica YouTube titan MrSuicideSheep and US dance music titan Diplo. He’ll be spending his summer touring festivals across Europe with mainstage spots at Hospitality On The Beach, Liquicity Festival, Standon Calling and Hospitality In The Park.
