Still riding the wave of grime-infused heater I Like with Kam-Bu, Lady Ice and Tia Carys, CLIPZ continues to anticipate his upcoming EP with latest earworm Say Less feat. Obi Franky via Dream Vision Future.
The second single off the 5-track EP, Say Less has already landed Clara Amfo’s Hottest Record title on BBC Radio 1, solidifying the track as a catchy and high-octane gem. It follows this summer’s I Like, which garnered praise and airplay from Jack Saunders, Danny Howard, Jeremiah Asiamah, and more on BBC Radio 1 and created the perfect buzz just in time for energetic crowds at Notting Hill Carnival.
Shaped by the warehouses, free parties, and thriving junglist ecosystems of Bristol’s revolutionary 90s rave scene, CLIPZ has conquered every corner of the DNB sphere with his own brand of bullish basslines. The London-born genre pioneer has continued to find success with hits like last summer’s No Time with jungle star Nia Archives and Again with the legendary Ms Dynamite, which currently boasts over 12M Spotify streams. Elsewhere as an in-demand producer, his recent collaboration with Rudimental landed Jack Saunders’ Hottest Record on BBC Radio 1 and follows credits on Nia Archive’s Bad Gyalz and Finn Foxell’s TYSON.
In the last few years, the versatile producer has demonstrated his ability to embrace musical freedom and genre fluidity through his alias Redlight. His joint tour as Clipz and Redlight this past spring hit venues and festivals like London’s fabric and Brixton Jamm, Bristol’s Love Saves The Day, Japan’s Circus and STARFESTIVAL and more.
Meanwhile, eclectic singer-songwriter Obi Franky graces Say Less with exhilarating vocals, continuing a streak of high-profile collaborations with the likes of Nightmares on Wax, Maverick Sabre, Dego, Plan B, Maribou State, George FitzGerald, and more. The proficient multi-instrumentalist has garnered praise for features on albums from HAAi and The Shapeshifters and live appearances including festivals like Defected Croatia and a recent performance alongside Honey Dijon at the Royal Festival Hall.
Continuing to build the hype for his upcoming EP, CLIPZ drops yet another catchy dose of energy, looking toward joining Nia Archives at her ‘Up Ya Archives’ night at Warehouse Project on the 8th of December going B2B with Special Request. A jungle track pumped with rave flavours, Say Less swells with monumental basslines and rapid-fire percussion blessed with Obi Franky’s infectious flows.
