Bonafide drum & bass legend DJ Fresh is back with a bang. Following a fruitful career with multiple chart-topping hits under his belt including his Ministry of Sound debut Gold Dust which remained a top 40 hit for 18 weeks, Gravity with Ella Eyre, the world’s first #1 dubstep track with Louder, and Hot Right Now which became the first ever DnB track to reach #1 whilst simultaneously launching Rita Ora’s career. Making a return to his DnB roots, DJ Fresh has come full circle with another release on Ministry of Sound with sizzling new track Control with Doctrine which is set to light up the clubs this autumn. Contrary to what the track name suggests, Control makes you lose control. Building up to what is arguably the dirtiest bass line that has grazed this earth, Control is filled with Fresh signature wobble that is relentlessly rolled out throughout the track alongside the silky vocals which will no doubt have the entire crowd bouncing up and down in no time.
First starting out on late-night pirate stations while at university, Dan Stein, aka DJ Fresh joined four-man collective Bad Company UK before going solo which saw him venture into electro-house and dubstep before firmly establishing his roots in the drum & bass world with tracks via Valve and Ram Records. Following this, Fresh launched his own imprint, Breakbeat Kaos which first catapulted the likes of Chase & Status, Sigma, Pendelum and many more to the public sphere.
Armed with an expertise than extends beyond DnB and finger firmly on the pulse, Fresh has pioneered the wobbly bass sound that is evident throughout the electro music scene while his collaborations with artists from all corners of the music world has asserted his role as leader of the DnB sound.
