Movement Music Festival has announced the set times, stages, and showcases of its highly anticipated 2022 return, featuring over 110 acts across six stages and three days. The lineup includes headline performances by electronic music legends Jeff Mills, Richie Hawtin, and Adam Beyer, as well as UK Drum and Bass legends Goldie and LTJ Bukem performing together for the first-time ever as Goldie back to back LTJ Bukem featuring MC Armanni Reign. DJ, producer and multi-instrumentalist GRiZ was recently added to this year’s lineup and joins previously announced artists Flying Lotus, Kevin Saunderson performing under his iconic alias E-Dancer, Duck Sauce, Chris Lake, ANNA, and Detroit Techno icon Carl Craig performing a special back to back set with LCD Soundsystem frontman James Murphy.
The festival’s stages for 2022 are as follows: Movement Stage, Waterfront Stage, Pyramid Stage, Stargate Stage, Underground Stage, Detroit Stage presented by JARS. Complete lineup by set times and stage can be found below.
For the first time since 2019 music fans will once again be able to make the pilgrimage to Detroit, the mecca of Techno music, for three days of diverse curation on Memorial Day Weekend (May 28-30, 2022) inside Hart Plaza at downtown Detroit’s riverfront. Attendees will notice some new enhancements to this year’s festival footprint, including an additional sixth stage, Detroit Stage presented by JARS, making JARS the first cannabis retailer to partner with Movement Festival. The stage will feature an all-Detroit lineup of veterans, rising talent, and newcomers, including T4T LUV NRG artist Beige, Portage Garage Sounds artist Tammy Lakkis as well as newcomers Deon Jamar, Meftah, Francois Dillinger, and many more.
Festival organizers recently announced a new home for the event’s beloved Underground Stage, adjacent to the previous location. The new Underground Stage location is twice as large as the previous space and will offer fans an enhanced warehouse-like atmosphere with 120 linear feet of wide open wall space to allow attendees to safely enter/exit the stage (as opposed to the one-way entry/exit ramp at the former location).
Since its inception, Movement has been dedicated to bringing music fans a completely original experience to Detroit, with a focus on showcasing authentic and diverse lineups that are purely about the music and culture. The 2022 lineup continues to showcase the breadth of the festival’s programming, featuring an inspired selection of dance music’s most in-demand artists, underground mainstays, and notable first-time performers; a potent cross section of seasoned vets and future generations of electronic music.
Attendees can also download the official Movement 2022 app to customize their schedule, discover new artists, view the festival map and much more. Movement 2022 app is now available for iOS and Android smartphones. Download the app here.
