Grafix strikes yet again with a rave tinted drum & bass stepper that delivers explosive energy and fiery frequencies through scattering synths and a throbbing bassline. ‘Distressed’ is the latest single from the dancefloor icon and is another step-up for Grafix’s signature solo sound. This follows on from the successes of his recent singles ‘Zephyr (feat. Ruth Royall)’, ‘Stutter’, and ‘Acid Generation’ which reached number 1 in the Beatport Drum & Bass chart.
The latest smasher from Grafix sees him heading back into the darker territories of drum & bass. Frantic melodics and skippy breaks see the execution of some of the most unique work from Grafix to date, whilst electrifying bass stabs and sharp vocal chops offer a taste of the Bristol-based producer’s sonic imprint.
The past year has been pivotal in Grafix’s solo journey, as the development and exploration of his style has seen appreciation from dance music connoisseurs including Andy C, Metrik, A.M.C and High Contrast. With his inspirations drawing from techno to indie rock, Grafix’s remarkable production skill and originality has seen him garner radio support from airwave tastemakers in 2020 such as Rene LaVice, Danny Howard, Charlie Tee, and Mollie Collins, and even a collaboration with fellow label extraordinaire Metrik on ‘Parallel’.
