On Saturday 21st September a sell-out first edition Connect will return to Düsseldorf for a second year. A partnership from Awakenings and Time Warp two of the most influential electronic music festivals in the scene, both known for stellar production and huge lineups, Connect is one not to be missed. When legends unite, magic is bound to happen.
Following on from their sell out event last year, Connect have programmed an even bigger and bolder lineup for 2019. Showcasing an eclectic mix of international heavyweights alongside rising talent. Charged with the combined passion and energy, Connect will unite 20,000 ravers to their Düsseldorf basecamp.
Pulling out all the stops for this year’s edition, Connect welcomes some of the most iconic names in the scene, inviting techno visionary Richie Hawtin and Time Warp mainstay Sven Väth whilst Dynamic label head Solomun will grace the decks with the freshest tech house selections. Techno queen and Trip label boss Nina Kraviz will join them, alongside Helena Hauff, showcasing her stripped-down techno and electro sound. Elsewhere, Belgium’s most exciting exports Amelie Lens will head to Connect, followed by no other than Peggy Gou.
Heading to Connect for another year is long-serving techno master and Drumcode boss Adam Beyer alongside label affiliate Enrico Sangiuliano. The master of marathon DJ sessions Joseph Capriati will join them alongside the ever-versatile Joris Voorn. Reigning from Düsseldorf itself is Loco Dice, will be on hand to provide one of his high energy sets back in his hometown.
Returning this year is one of the world’s most dominant techno forces, Chris Liebing championing a cold club sound in his sets, alongside minimal don Boris Brejcha. On a heavier tip, the relentless and uncompromising Dax J is added to bill joined by Rebekah who will be showcasing her live set.
Afterlife label bosses and well-respected Italian duo Tale Of Us, will be showcasing the labels discographies whilst Miami’s finest export Maceo Plex alongside, multi-dimensional Berlin-based duo Pan-Pot. Not forgetting to mention Power Plant label boss La Fleur, former Berghain resident Marcel Fengler, and modern techno pioneer, Reinier Zonneveld, renowned for his powerful live sets will also head to this year’s festival.
It’s easy to get there, Düssledorf is easily accessible from all European airports and flights from London start from just £70. There will be an additional tram shuttle service running between Düssledorf Central Station and Arena Messe Nord, or it is just short train journey away.
