GOOGLE ARTS & CULTURE. Virtual exhibition honors pioneers, instruments & history of electronic music.

Google Arts & Culture, Google’s not-for-profit platform, has launched a virtual exhibit showcase it’s all about the history of electronic music, music makers and producers over the past century. The exhibit is called Music, Makers & Machines, looking at some of the original synth makers, from the first synth in 1895, to pioneers across the world and notable artists today.

Music, Makers & Machines traces the multi-faceted, global history of electronic music from its pioneers to its forgotten instruments, the club culture it’s given birth to and the technology behind it. More details here

Over 50 international cultural partners spanning 15 countries, amongst them archives, museums, festivals or iconic labels such as Innervisions, Kitsuné or Kompakt, have come together on Google Arts & Culture to capture the crucial role electronic music plays within wider culture.
