Festival season is upon us, and 1 hour outside of Montreal, Canada you can find AIM Electronic Music Festival, offering an unparalleled festival experience, where attendees may immerse themselves in more than 24 hours of non-stop music, while camping amidst nature and friends. This year’s edition marks the 5th anniversary of AIM, in which the festival will be taking it back to their roots, with a curated lineup which will offer longer set times, for the ultimate musical journey. This year’s theme is ‘Monolithes City’ – which is a trip into the concrete jungle, an urban tale annexed into nature held firmly by its roots. Somewhere by the water or between the trees, we take to dancing, as with the past, this primitive ritual cannot be erased! We now present to you, AIM’s 2019 lineup.
In alphabetical order, we announce the AIM Stage, which will see South America’s techno export ANNA, Berlin’s minimal maven Anja Schneider, Argentina’s house don Guti – who will perform live, UK dance legend John Digweed – with a 4 hour extended set, evolving techno duo Pig&Dan will be making their first Canadian appearance as a live act, ethereal techno artist Soul Button, and Ukrainian duo Woo York [live] with their driving and dark yet sophisticated sound.
Heading over to the Monolithes Stage, the music will take you through a trip with Do Not Sit On The Furniture founder and label owner Behrouz, NYC house legend Danny Tenaglia will perform a very special rare 4 hour house set, Spanish icon of dance music David Penn, Desert Hearts favourites Mikey Lion and Lee Reynolds, Anjunadeep’s Jody Wisternoff, Russian duo Modd, Mobilee’s new master of eclecticism Rodriguez Jr. [live], Sol Sahara founder and musical magician Sabo, and a back-to-back set from DJ Spen and Karizma.
The Trance Arena will be projecting powerful airwaves with Coldharbour Recordings hosting the stage all weekend long with the following lineup: brotherly duo Arkham Knights, A State of Trance artist Ben Gold, trance and deep progressive artist Dave Neven, Netherland based artist Fisherman, Omnia and Ben Gold come together to perform as Future Code, Miami’s dynamic trance duo Grube & Hovsepian, Armada’s Jochen Miller, the infectious sounds of Slovakia’s Nifra, Ukrainian DJ/producer Omnia and still to be announced, is the special headliner from Coldharbour Recordings, who will perform a 4 hour set.
The Bass Pit will permeate Parc Carillon with the sounds of the haunting dubstep of Code:Pandorum, keeping it spooky with duo Hi I’m Ghost, Toronto’s long-time Embrace resident Hydee, bass in your face favourite Khardiac, cutting-edge bass music purveyor Lawz, the mind-bending expansive sounds of LSDREAM, Montreal native Matt Doe, the heavy dubstep sounds of Oolacile, bass murderer TenGraphs, and San Diego’s dubstep king Xaebor, and many more names to be announced.
Last, but certainly not least, Montreal based-label Multi Culti are back hosting their very own stage for those with an open heart and imaginative mind. Curating the soundtrack will be none other than Multi Culti’s Co-Founder Thomas Von Party who will also perform, alongside fellow Multi Culti Co-shaman Dreems, and the expressive and eclectic sounds of Drugface, Sabo, Thomass Jackson, with more acts to be announced. Set against a breathtaking historical site on the boarder of the Outaouais River, AIM offers a rare opportunity as one of the most affordable 3 day festivals in Canada, for electronic music’s diverse listeners to come together and celebrate music under one star-lit sky.
