Continuing his reign of singles building up to a highly anticipated EP in May, CLIPZ joins forces with West London Hertfordshire-based rapper, and recent face of Burberry, Slew on the voracious No One.
The track follows hot on the heels of hits like earworm and BBC Radio 1 Hottest Record I Like with Obi Franky and January’s collab with hotly tipped club-pop princess Rose Gray The Touch which has rapidly risen to top Spotify editorials like Massive Drum and Bass, Run ‘N’ Bass, UK Bass Music and more and was blasted across BBC Radio 1 and KISS FM. Meanwhile, last summer’s voltaic Notting Hill Carnival favourite I Like with rising stars KAM-BU, Tia Carys and Lady Ice saw extensive BBC Radio 1 support from heavyweights like Jack Saunders, Danny Howard, Jeremiah Asiamah and more.
A key pioneer of the 90s rave movement in Bristol, the now London-based producer has continued to find success as both CLIPZ and alias Redlight. Raised by the thriving junglist ecosystems of Bristol’s free parties, warehouses, sound systems and dubplates, the formidable producer and DJ has carried an uncompromising and timeless rave ethos with an authentic flair, refreshing in an increasingly plastic industry.
2023 was massive for the producer, who continued to demonstrate his collaborative versatility and openness to new gen talent working closely with breakout jungle star Nia Archives on tracks like Bad Gyalz following their hit collab No Time (2M Spotify streams) as well as performing alongside Paul Woolford at Nia’s Central Warehouse takeover UP YA ARCHIVES this past December. He continued to strike collaborative gold last year with another Hottest Record via BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders on Thunderstorm with Rudimental and Deyaz.
Meanwhile, rising star Slew has turned heads early in the music and fashion worlds. Hand-picked as one of the faces of Burberry by Daniel Lee and recognised as a rising star alongside the likes of King Krule, Rachel Weisz, Damon Alburn, Bukayo Saka and more, he recently walked for Burberry at London Fashion Week. Swiftly grabbing the attention of the industry with Instagram freestyle videos, the rapper has since demonstrated astute penmanship on singles like Sopranos and POP MUSIC! and dropped his debut album Face Value accompanied by a sellout show at Bermonsdey Social Club last year.
The two cult favourites now combine their formidable star power for a wonderfully catchy instant classic. Suffused with tightly woven piano melodies and infectious basslines, No One is a gritty and uplifting banger tailor made for the club.
