CONGO NATTY. Treats junglists to two fresh singles Dragon Slayer and Binghi Man.

Following the announcement of Ancestorz (Rootz Of Jungle) earlier this year that has been teased so far with three throttling singles, jungle pioneer Congo Natty returns with two fresh tracks Dragon Slayer (feat Frighty & Martha Cecile / Binghi Man (feat. Footsie) via New State.

Nine years after critically acclaimed album Jungle Revolution, Mikail Tafari aka Congo Natty levels up once again with another taste of what’s to come from the new project in this latest release, maintaining his boundary crossing journey exploring jungle, D&B, reggae, jazz, hip-hop and beyond.

Set to represent the global diaspora and giving a voice to the people on the upcoming album, Congo Natty tells the most important story jungle music can tell whilst documenting the uprising and reflecting on where mankind, culture and the journey is at in 2022.

With a five decade deep discography spanning seminal and timeless releases like Junglist, Under Mi Sensei, Get Wild, Kunta Kinte, Jah Sunshin’, Original Ses and more, Congo Natty has played a founding and hugely influential role in one of the most phenomenal, boundary breaking music movements the UK has ever known.

Remaining on the front line of the musical rebellion to this day, Mikail understands jungle’s power to unite and break barriers. Weaving positive affirmations of his spiritual life as a Rastafarian into his song writing, he has been a consistent protagonist in the jungle uprising since the early 90s. Forever humble, he seeks to spread more positivity and encourage unity, whilst focusing on the new generation who will carry his torch into the next five decades.

Since his album announcement Congo has continued his legacy on the airwaves and beyond with support from BBC Radio 1 and 6Music including a Near Future feature on Mary Anne Hobbs’ show, Binghi Man / Dragon Slayer is only set to continue the anticipation for the full project. Two dance floor destroying classics, Dragon Slayer balances jungle infused drum patterns featuring Frighty and Martha Cecile’s earnest reflections whilst Footsie spits fire over reggae-inspired basslines and dance floor intrigue on Binghi Man.

Continuing to spread the Congo Natty message as a performer, musician, label owner, pioneer, revolutionary, humanitarian and father, Ancestorz (Rootz Of Jungle) is set to be his most personal, ambitious, timeless and expert album to date and his finest chapter yet.

Congo Natty Dragon Slayer (feat Frighty & Martha Cecile/  Binghi Man (feat. Footsie) is out now via New State.
